Keith Calligaro, M.D. is Chief of Vascular Surgery, Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery and has served as President of the Eastern Vascular Society and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. He completed his general surgery training in Chicago in 1987 and his vascular surgery fellowship under one of the premier vascular surgeons in the country at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein Medical Center in New York in 1989.
He has been performing complex vascular surgery and vascular balloon angioplasty as well as stenting at Pennsylvania Hospital since he began his career. Dr. Calligaro has been intimately involved in national and regional academic vascular societies throughout his career. He served as President of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, one of two national vascular societies, in 2009 and as President of the Eastern Vascular Society, the largest of the five regional vascular societies in the country, in 2009.
He has authored or co-authored over 200 original articles and chapters. He serves on the editorial board of the most prestigious vascular journal, The Journal of Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Calligaro has experience and expertise with minimally invasive office-based treatments of all forms of varicose veins and venous disease.
